Stenbjerg Landingsplats
Right near the North Sea and in the middle of Thy National Park is Stenbjerg, with its beach, dune heaths and dune plantation. If you visit Stenbjerg Landingsplads, you can experience the small idyllic fishing village, which is located near the beach and between the high dunes. Slightly further inland, you’ll find expansive, heather-clad dune heaths and the plantation, Stenbjerg Klitplantage, the flat expanses and large dune areas which are also certainly worth a visit.
The well-maintained fishing village consists of small, whitewashed houses for storing fishing equipment, which are located in sheltered spots amongst the dunes. It is thought that Stenbjerg was established in the 1600s when drifting sand badly affected Thy and drove its farmers in search of more fertile soil. A group settled afterwards as sea fishermen at Stenbjerg. In the lifeboat house, you can see the original lifeboat from 1892 and various equipment that was used by the lifeboat service. The lifeboat house was used up until 1969 and is recognisable from its red bricks and characteristic door with crossing Danish flags painted on it. The eastern part of Stenbjerg Klitplantage contains a number of old burial mounds, and here you can visit the mound Store Dyrehøj.
The attractive heath landscape can be experienced via nine marked walking routes through Stenbjerg and Stenbjerg Klitplantage. At Stenbjerg Landingsplads, you can find the information centre for Thy National Park, a museum relating to Redningsmuseet (the lifeboat station), toilets and a parking area.

Authentic west coast environment
Stenbjerg is one of the most authentic places on the west coast, where the town and the landing place reflect the life of the area. There are many active locals who are constantly working to give tourists and holiday home owners good experiences in local areas.
The Land Conservation Association and the Stenbjerg Residents Association are constantly working to find renewal in areas, with respect for the area's values.
Come and experience Stenbjerg yourself.
Worth a visit for anyone who appreciates beautiful scenery and quality time with family
Lovely place! Cozy, quiet and beautiful!
The fish houses are, as they always have been, authentic and are still used by the local fishermen.
There are plenty of opportunities for a nice walk in the area and end with a good dinner at Stenbjerg Kro, which specializes in raw materials from the national park.
Worth a visit
Most beautiful beautiful fishing village - just like on the postcards ♥ ️
Definitely worth a visit.
One of my absolute favorite places on the West Coast. In the summer, you may be lucky enough to have a chat in the National Park Information Center and buy one of their delicious ice creams.
A great day with sea and hiking trails
An authentic fishing village perfect for enjoying lunch. Here are several beautiful hiking trails of 5 or 12 km that cross the beach. The National Park with the beautiful moors and goes all the way into the woods. Definitely worth a visit. PS lunch at the inn is delicious.
