Nyord
Nyord is located north of Møn. In 1968, a bridge was made so that it is possible to drive from Møn to Nyord. The island is about 5 km2 and houses 35 permanent residents.
Nyord has a wonderful selection of local specialties, such as the locally produced whiskey and mustard with strawberry flavor from Noorbohandelen.
In addition, Nyord also boasts of having Denmark's smallest museum. Back in time, the 4 m2 small house was used as a lookout house so that the permanent residents could help sailing through the difficult waters around Nyord. It was built in 1882 and has been maintained even after it was no longer used as a lookout house. In 2013, it was named Denmark's smallest museum by Her Majesty Queen Magrethe II, and it now contains stories from the time when it was used as a lookout house.
The church in Nyord City is also a beautiful sight. It can be dated back to 1846 and was designed by the architect C. Glahn who designed it as a copy of Frederiksberg Church with an octagonal floor plan and one large church room.
