Læsø Tang

Farm shop and café with delicious treats

Right in the middle of Læsø you will find Læsø Tang, a small shop and café with a multitude of unique delicacies. The place is easy to overlook, because it is not right on the main road between Vesterø and Østerby, but if you turn north from Doktorvejen in the middle of Byrum, you will soon come to the small farm shop and café.

We stopped by during one of our visits to Læsø in August 2022.

Unique lunch

After walking the tanghus route in Gl. We were in Østerby looking for a good lunch. And what better than a lunch that also had seaweed as a focal point? That is what is served here: a lunch of delicacies made with seaweed!

The lunch set consists of:
• Hummus with sugar seaweed
• Pickled bladderwrack
• Potatoes (grown in seaweed)
• Homemade pesto with sugar seaweed and bladder seaweed
• North Sea cheese
• Jam with seaweed
• Rye bread and home-baked kelp bread

For the food, we could even get a seaweed beer - complete! 😝

The glories are as follows:

A super delicious and unique lunch that can really be recommended when you want to experience Læsø!

ATTENTION! The café is not open all year round. Keep an eye out for current lunches and opening times here.

Guided tours and seaweed safari

At Rie, however, you can get much more than lunch and delicacies with seaweed. Alongside this, you also have a world of mediation, where Rie takes you out on guided nature walks, seaweed safaris and other activities.

So if you are curious about seaweed as food etc., just check out the activity calendar and book the trip to Læsø.

Tang sent to your door

Although a visit to the store and a lunch in the associated café is highly recommended, you don't have to travel all the way to Læsø to get Rie's delicious products.

At laesoetang.dk you will find their webshop, where you can buy a multitude of delicious products - from chips, salt, mustard, bjesk and gin and much more - so take a look and support Rie's work with the spread of seaweed as a sustainable food.
