The Singing Trees
If you want a unique experience that is also a pleasant walk in the park, De Syngende Træer is a good place to start. There is a wide range of artists in different genres, so there is something for everyone, and the opportunity to discover artists you might not have known before.
Experience the music
You can easily activate the trees' songs by pressing the button next to them. Here you will be able to experience some of the artists' most famous songs, and on each individual stand it will appear who the artist is and when the tree was planted.
The story behind The Singing Trees
Since the mid-80s, many celebrities have stopped by Kildeparken and planted a tree. in 1987, Sir Cliff Richard was the first to do this, and the area was called Kunstnerparken. However, this was only the beginning of the experience you can have in the park today.
In 2012, the trees also started singing the songs of the celebrities, or at least the stands next to the trees can do this. The musical initiative was inaugurated by Sir Cliff Richard on 6 June 2012.
Christmas carol in Aalborg
At Christmas time, the singing trees are also something special. 60 of the artists who have planted trees in the Park have also recorded Christmas carols, which can be heard from the 1st Sunday in Advent at the various stands.
However, the Christmas spirit does not stop here, because on the Advent Sundays you will be greeted by something very special, when 350 candles are lit to light up the park.
Art in many forms
INThe entrance to the Singing Trees is also something special, as the gate itself is a large work of art, consisting of eight tall columns. They are made of cortin steel, which has acquired a rust-red color over time. The artwork was created by the two artists Thorvald Odgaard and Bruno Kjær.
