In some periods it is possible to experience the Vikings in a more vivid sense at Bork vikingehavn. Here you can experience the Viking Age with all your senses, and there are many different activities for children.
During the spring and summer, there are various events that create this revitalization, e.g. a viking market and the like are held. During the summer. In the month of October, there are even more Vikings at the harbor than usual, who ensure the living history.
Bork Vikingehavn also offers daily tours in Danish and German over the summer, and once a week in English.
Other activities
In the quiet periods with not much activity, however, there is plenty of opportunity to immerse yourself in studying the Viking houses, as well as other crafts that can be found around Bork Viking Harbour.
There are also lots of activities for children, who can experience the Viking Age firsthand. They can both sail with Viking ships in the moat, dress in Viking clothes, participate in various Viking games and try their hand at the Viking playground.
Home of the Vikings
Bork vikingehavn is equipped with reconstructed longhouses, where you can see how the vikings lived and worked with different crafts. You can also visit their stave church and the sacrificial grove, where you can light a candle or make an offering, almost like the Vikings did.
You can also take a closer look at the Bork tapestry, which is an embroidered depiction of Mikkel Hollmann's chronicle of the Battle of Søndervig.
The buildings are authentic and based on archaeological excavations in the local area. You get an insight into how the Vikings lived and how the surrounding landscape has shaped it.
