This bike ride is a challenge. You are up against the forces of nature in the form of high Ice Age hills, sandblasting and westerly winds. But you also cycle downwind through historic villages and green farmland, which tells how people, here on the edge of the sea, have defied the forces of nature and created a good life in cozy towns.
The East Coast Route runs from Hulsig south of Skagen to Sønderborg and weaves its way along the landscape's protruding noses, ears, necks and heads.

Occasionally, fjord paths are followed, where oak and beech lean dangerously towards the sea in a timeless landscape.
