Vendsyssel Art Museum

Vendsyssel Art Museum in Hjørring is a prominent institution that celebrates modern Danish art. The museum, which is located in the former Bechs Klædefabrik, offers a unique experience that combines historic architecture with modern artistic expressions and in 2023 they appeared on our map of the country's best experiences, when the museum won the title of North Jutland's Best Museum 2023.

Local Art

The museum's collection focuses on artists associated with Vendsyssel and includes a wide range of art forms, including painting, sculpture, handicrafts and graphics from around 1945 onwards. A particularly prominent part of the collection is dedicated to the painter Niels Larsen Stevns, whose works provide a deep insight into the region's artistic heritage.

Vendsyssel Art Museum is not only home to a permanent collection, but also organizes 3-4 special exhibitions annually.
