Jensnej
Jensnej is Thomas Dambo's troll in Ring Forest near Brædstrup, which was inaugurated in 2023. Below you can read about the creation, how the troll got his name and where you can find him.
The easiest way to find him is to drive to Brædstrup Aktivitetspark (Skovvejen 17, 8740 Brædstrup). Here there is a wonderful playground and activity track etc. And from here it is not difficult to find the troll in the forest behind.
The story behind Jensnej
About the creation of Jensnej, Thomas Dambo tells:
- I was in Brædstrup last year to find a place for the troll, and I was very fascinated by the tall, beautiful firs with the beautiful, straight lines. That's why I thought it would be obvious if the troll looked up, and it had to use a mirror, so you had to look into it if you wanted to see its face. Therefore, I think the name should be a palindrome, so the name became a mixture of something Nordic and something that signaled troll power. That's why it ended with Jensnej.
At the inauguration on 28 April 2023, Thomas Dambo himself was present, where he read a poem about Jensnej in Brædstrup:
His name is not jens yes, but no.
It is spelled the same the other way around
Because the world is full of mistakes
But not into Jense's mirror
Because when he looks in the mirror
Becomes heavy stones for letters' feathers
A year after year for sunny weather
And chestnuts for lingonberries
So if you meet Jens, one day
Stop laughing, smile
And look in the mirror bitterly angry
And Jens wants to know you are happy
Because Jens can be difficult to understand
But give him a chance and hang on
Do not be frightened by His reflection

Troll Jensnej im Wald
Wir waren letzte Woche (zufällig an Jensnej s erstem Geburtstag) bei dem Troll im Wald und waren begeistert. Thomas Dambo designed the Trolls in detail and lovingly, each Troll has its own story. Jensnej ist nicht ganz leicht zu finden, umso mehr freut man sich, wenn man ihn dann gefunden hat. Wir werden weiter Trolle suchen und viel Spaß dabei haben!
