Christmas square at Gisselfeld Monastery

Come along to Denmark's nicest Christmas square - it doesn't get much better...

This is the call from today's successors to Master of the Royal Court Peder Oxe, who in the years 1547-1575 built the castle and castle in the scenic surroundings of Haslev.

The whir of history is felt especially at Christmas time. It is Gisselfeld's biggest – and proudest – tradition.
On the Christmas square, the scent of Christmas spreads from the many inspiring stands, which help to set the perfect setting.

Visit Santa's grotto
Juletorvet offers lots of fun and Christmas atmosphere. The focus is on good experiences for the children in particular. There are pony rides, music and entertainment, a tent with creative activities and not least Santa who welcomes children and childish souls down in the "Santa's Cave" under the Castle.

Christmas decorated castle
Persuaded, the apartment has been carefully decorated, with respect for the beautiful and natural setting in the park and around the castle. In recent years it has become a tradition for the castle to be decorated for Christmas inside, a beautiful tradition where every year a new decorator is responsible for the decorations. Entrance to the castle is included in the contract. In the park, there will also be sales of Christmas trees and greenery.

The Christmas market at Gisselfeld is visited by almost 20,000 people every year, and it always takes place on the last two and entire weekends in November. Thus, it is open 17-18-19 and 24-25-26 November. Friday in the time period at 15-20 and Saturdays and Sundays at 10-16.
