St. Hansel is just around the corner, and that means bonfires, midsummer carols, community and lots of summer atmosphere.

All over the country, the bright evening is celebrated with bonfire speeches, witches on the pyre and enjoyable activities for both children and adults.

We have compiled an overview of St. Hans events in Denmark, divided by region, so you can easily find a celebration near you.

Lønstrup is a beautiful spot on the west coast and on Midsummer's Eve it will be no less fantastic when you can enjoy the year's bonfire with a fantastic sunset in the North Sea.

If you're lucky, you can get a table at Villa Vest and enjoy a view of the entire glory from the restaurant.

St. Hans is celebrated again this year in Aalborg's coziest oasis, where everyone is welcome for an evening of fire, art and community.

As always, the bonfire will have a special expression – this year with a large, artistic wooden sculpture that will be built by Nordkraft.

Midsummer is celebrated with music, singing and activities at Musikkens Plads in Aalborg.

This year's bonfire speech will be given by Mayor Lasse Frimand Jensen, and the music will be provided by, among others, Carl Emil, Signe Olsen and brass players from the Aalborg Symphony Orchestra.

As something very special this year, the Danish Championship week is at the square and offers fun activities such as a panna court, pickleball and long jump from 5 pm.

The official program begins at 6:30 p.m. with bar sales, and at 7 p.m. Signe Olsen takes the stage. Shortly after, two choirs arrive, and together with the audience and 11 brass players, they are invited to sing together. After the bonfire speech and the Midsummer Carol, Carl Emil ends the evening from the stage at 8:40 p.m.

The event is free and open to everyone.

St. Hansel celebration at Stigsborg Brygge

True to tradition, Stigsborg invites you to a St. Hansel celebration on Monday, June 23rd with fun for the whole family.

Look forward to entertainment with Popsi and Krelle, a bonfire speech by councillor Jan Nymark Thaysen, community singing and fun activities for children. The bonfire will be lit by the Nørresundby Scouts.

Popsi and Krelle entertain with both well-known classics such as "Hjulene på bussen" (The Wheels on the Bus) and their own hits such as "Rejs dig op og sæt dig ned".

The event takes place at Stigsborg Brygge 5 from 4 to 7 pm – it is free and open to everyone.

St. Hans at Aalborg Streetfood

Aalborg Streetfood invites you to a cozy and free Midsummer evening with activities, music and food for the whole family.

From 4 p.m. there will be children's activities with marshmallows over a bonfire, face painting and a drawing corner. The bouncy castle will be open for free play all day.

From 6–8 p.m. there will be live music with Marc Roland, who will play well-known hits from Kim Larsen and Shubidua – ready for a sing-along and good atmosphere.

St. John's Eve in Mølleparken

Sankt Hans in Mølleparken is among the biggest celebrations in Aalborg and offers an atmospheric evening for the whole family.

From 6 pm you can enjoy live music, delicious barbecue food from Slagter Stiller, drinks from the stalls and cake from Gudbageren on Kastetvej.

With a view of the city and hopefully good weather, a cozy midsummer party is planned at the top of Aalborg.

Sankt Hans in Skagen is something very special and takes place, true to tradition, at Sønderstrand with a view of the historic Vippefyr lighthouse.

The evening offers communal singing, music and a bonfire speech by Poul Madsen, before both the bonfire and the Vippefyret are lit to conclude an atmospheric midsummer evening.

The celebration begins around 8:40 PM and is free and open to everyone – bring family and friends for a traditional evening by the water.

Midsummer's Eve at Lindholm Høje

Midsummer Eve at Lindholm Høje offers an atmospheric combination of history, food and tradition on June 23rd.

Start with a tour of the archaeological site from 4 pm, and at 5:30 pm Camillos Køkken takes the stage with a five-course dinner outdoors in the café – including a welcome drink and two glasses of wine, beer or water (605 DKK per ticket).

After dinner, everyone meets at 9 p.m. for a bonfire speech by author Johannes Andersen, followed by a communal singing session with the chamber choir Coro Misto, led by conductor Søren Birch. After that, the bonfire is lit and the Midsummer Carol is sung together.

An exclusive and traditional evening for those who want more than just a bonfire – tickets are required for dinner and tours. Bring family or friends for a unique Midsummer’s Eve experience with both culture and culinary insight.

St. Hansel Festival in Brønderslev

A festive and traditional St. Hans evening is planned in the Rhododendron Park in Brønderslev with live music, bonfire speeches and a cozy atmosphere.

The event is free and open to everyone. You can support the party by renting a chair, buying food and drinks – or bringing your own picnic basket.

The program includes a bonfire talk as a conversation between Christina Eilers (Enh.) and Mathias Christensen (V), a bonfire lighting by The Green Patrol and a concert with Jack Flash and the Comets.

The band plays hits from the last five decades – from Tobias Rahim to Creedence – and is fronted by local Søren Jensen, known from Dirty Frank. Look forward to an evening of both fellowship and full musical energy.

Saint Hans on Palmestranden in Frederikshavn

Sankt Hans on Palmestranden in Frederikshavn offers a cozy evening for both children and adults with music, bonfire speeches and fun activities by the water.

From 7:30 p.m., Mayor Karsten Thomsen will give a bonfire speech, after which the bonfire will be lit close to the beach. Anne Møller will contribute with atmospheric songs both before and after the bonfire, so that the audience can sing along.

For the little ones, there is a new cable car and expanded play equipment in the Jungle Trail – thanks to the Friends of Palmestranden, who financed the new equipment.

The event is free and open to everyone - feel free to bring your blanket and enjoy an evening of fire, music and fellowship in a beautiful beach setting.

Saint Hans at Knivholt in Frederikshavn

Midsummer for the little ones at Knivholt Hovedgaard offers family fun, campfire speeches and activities at a child-friendly level.

The snobrød stands will start at 4 p.m., and the hot dog cart and coffee stand will open at 5 p.m. At 6 p.m., Christina Lykke will give a bonfire speech, and the bonfire will be lit shortly after by the lake.

The event continues into the evening with games, fun and fellowship – all in a beautiful historical setting.

It is free to participate, and everyone – young and old – is welcome to an atmospheric St. Hans celebration at Knivholt.

Saint Hans at Lundby Culture & Community Center

Lundby Culture and Community Center invites you to a cozy Midsummer evening with food, bonfire speeches and good company on June 23rd.

The meal starts at 6:30 p.m., and the bonfire is lit at 8 p.m. The menu is “eat everything you can” with spareribs, neck roast, potatoes, pasta salad, salad, bread and sausages with side dishes.

The evening's bonfire speech will be given by principal Jakob Autzen from North Jutland Agricultural School, and afterwards there will be coffee, cake and a cake competition with a prize for the year's best baker.

Price: DKK 120 per person. Children under 12: half price. Children under 3: free. Drinks available for purchase. No registration required – just show up.

St. Hans in Tivoli Freedom in Aarhus

Midsummer in Tivoli Friheden offers a magical evening with a bonfire, bonfire speeches and music in beautiful surroundings.

The celebration begins at Swan Lake, where the mayor gives a bonfire speech around 8 p.m., after which the bonfire is lit and the Midsummer Carol is sung together.

At 8:30 p.m., “Heroes of the Air” will take the stage and play well-known songs from classic Disney films such as The Lion King, Tarzan and Mulan.

The rides are open all evening, and the event is included in the admission ticket or with a season ticket.

Saint Hans in the University Park in Aarhus

St. Hans in Uniparken is back, and the Student Council invites you to a cozy evening under the open sky on Monday, June 23rd.

From 6 p.m. the bar opens, and a relaxed atmosphere is created with space for camping chairs, spikeball and socializing while we count down to the bonfire.

There will be limited beer sales, but you are also welcome to bring your own drinks.

The program features a bonfire speech at 7:30 PM and bonfire lighting around 7:50 PM, followed by community singing and a summer evening atmosphere in the heart of Aarhus.

St. Hansel in Skanseparken is back with a cozy and child-friendly celebration in the middle of Frederiksbjerg.

From 5 to 8 p.m. you can enjoy a summer evening with a picnic, bonfires, snobrød, community singing and pleasant musical performances. Bring your blanket, find a spot in the green and be part of the community.

Lystrup Church invites you to an atmospheric Midsummer's Eve party on Monday, June 23rd at 7 pm at the church in Lystrup.

The event offers free admission for everyone with the opportunity to enjoy the evening atmosphere on the lawn – food brought along is welcome, and the grill will be lit.

Musicians from the Aarhus Brass Band play and accompany community singing, while the fire brigade contributes to the local festival atmosphere and popcorn is served at the Lions Club.

At 8:30 p.m., René Falkenberg will light the bonfire, after which we will sing the Midsummer Carol together. Shortly afterwards, you can enjoy coffee and cake for 10 kr.

Saint Hans on Aarhus Island

Sankt Hans on Aarhus Ø returns with an atmospheric evening filled with coziness, music and community by the water.

On Monday, June 23, the Coastal Promenade will be transformed into a festive meeting place with barbecued sausages, cold drinks and a beautiful bonfire lit on the water.

From 4 pm there will be children's activities and a bonfire at the Sailing Center. Later the square will open with music along the promenade and a concert by the Aarhus Harmoniorkester at 8 pm.

The evening culminates at 9:45 PM with a bonfire speech from the mayor, followed by bonfire lighting, community singing and a concert with Local Vocal. The evening is rounded off with local music on the wooden ship Esther Jensen.

St. Hans in Gjesing is one of the coziest evenings of the year, when the local community gathers around the bonfire by the lake next to Bilka.

With a bonfire on the water, communal singing and bonfire speeches, a magical midsummer atmosphere is created that both children and adults can enjoy. Scouts and local associations provide plenty of activities, games and experiences during the evening.

Sankt Hans at Sædden Church and Sædding Beach is a cozy and child-friendly tradition, where the whole family is welcome to a festive Midsummer Eve on Monday, June 23, 2025.

At 6:00 p.m. the event starts at the church with a welcome and sale of sausages, coffee, tea and lemonade – and there is free croissants for the children.

From 6:05 PM to 7:05 PM, children can make balloon animals, and at 7:05 PM, the fun magic show will begin with live animals and lots of laughter. After the show, all children will receive a magic wand to take home.

At 8:00 p.m., the large Midsummer bonfire is lit at Sædding Strand, where the evening is rounded off with community singing and the Midsummer Carol.

The event is held in collaboration with children's and youth organizations in the parish - and everyone is welcome.

Monday, June 23rd from 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM, FDF Esbjerg 4 Østerbyen invites you to a cozy evening by the lake. At 6:00 PM, the stalls will open selling sausages, drinks, coffee and cake – all in support of local children's and youth work.

From 6:30 p.m. Jesper Borg will entertain with music, and at 8:00 p.m. parish priest Marianne Holm Zeuthen will give this year's bonfire speech. At Ribe Rowing Club, rowing demonstrations, bonfire speeches and the large bonfire on Hovedengen create a classic midsummer atmosphere, while coffee, cake and refreshments are sold in cozy stalls.

In the city center, Cathedral Square is buzzing with life with bonfires and live music, bringing together both locals and visitors in the warmth of the summer evening.

On Midsummer's Eve, Monday, June 23, 2025, a bonfire will be lit in the meadow next to Hotel Christiansminde in Svendborg, according to tradition.

The event takes place down by the water and creates an atmospheric setting in the evening with a view of the strait. Christiansminde Ice Cream & Minigolf is behind the bonfire lighting and activities on the square.

For those who want to combine the experience with dinner, the restaurant at the hotel offers a 3-course menu with wine, snacks and coffee – with the option to enjoy the food on the terrace overlooking the bonfire.

Celebrate midsummer with devotion, fellowship and a bonfire in the middle of Odense. At 5:30 pm the evening begins in the church with a short devotion and midsummer speech by Thomas Funding, director of TV 2 Fyn.

From 6:00 p.m. the party continues at Ansgar Anlæg with live music from John & Ole, bouncy castles, pancakes and children's activities. FDF Odense Ansgar will grill sausages, and the church will sell drinks and cake.

At 7:30 p.m. the bonfire is lit and we sing the Midsummer Carol together. The party ends around 9:00 p.m.

Come to an atmospheric and relaxed Midsummer's Eve in the beautiful surroundings of Birkegårdens Haver near Ruds Vedby. An evening of blooming gardens, community, good food and traditional campfire fun awaits you.

The evening begins at 4:30 PM with an inspiring garden walk, where Merry Sørensen shows you around and talks about the many details of the garden. At 6:00 PM, a delicious buffet with hot dishes is served, followed by coffee and cake – all enjoyed in a cozy setting.

From 3:00 PM there are lots of fun activities for children, including a bouncy castle, pony rides and face painting, organized by the scouts Megalipperne.

At 6:00 p.m., the stalls open with food and drinks, and the evening offers music, choir singing and life in the square until 10:00 p.m. The proceeds go to local associations.

At 8:00 p.m., the large bonfire is lit on the lake, and Mayor Kirsten Jensen gives the bonfire speech. Afterwards, the Midsummer Carol is sung together.

Sankt Hans at Rørvig Harbour

The day is welcomed at Rørvig Harbor with a festive evening in beautiful maritime surroundings.

The music is provided by DJ O-Beat, who fills the harbor with energetic and well-known music throughout the evening, while the chairman of Rørvig Handels- og Håndværkerforening, Heidi Schnabel Thorsø, welcomes you.

One of the evening's highlights is the bonfire speech by Morten Egeskov, which gets the thoughts going before the large Midsummer bonfire is lit - a spectacular sight in the middle of the harbor's scenic surroundings.

The event runs from early evening to late evening – you can come and go as you please. Feel free to bring a warm jacket – and experience a festive and community-oriented St. Hansel with music, bonfires and bonfire speeches in the heart of Rørvig.

St. Hansel in Tivoli

St. Hans in Tivoli offers a very special experience, where fire, music and tradition come together in the middle of the capital's iconic garden.

The evening begins at 8:15 PM with the Tivoli Orchestra playing atmospheric midsummer music at the Orangery, setting the stage for a festive evening.

Later, the bonfire is lit on the lake – not in the traditional way, but with fire arrows fired by world-renowned archer Lars Andersen. A dramatic and impressive prelude to the midsummer carol.

Afterwards, the Copenhagen Boys' Choir performs Drachmann's classic Midsummer Carol and other selected songs, while the bonfire burns and the audience is invited to sing along.

A unique and atmospheric Midsummer's Eve, where both children and adults can experience true midsummer magic in the middle of Copenhagen.

Saint Hans at Kayak Bar in Copenhagen

On Monday, June 23, 2025, St. Hans will be celebrated in a spectacular way at the Kayak Bar under Knippelsbro, where the bonfire is lit directly on the water and can be seen from the entire canal.

From 4:00 p.m. there are kayaking activities and competitions in the harbor, and from 5:00 p.m. the DJ will play from the dock. The evening offers dinner with an open bar, live music by Music of Hearts, a bonfire talk at 8:45 p.m. and bonfire lighting at 9:00 p.m. – followed by a community song and concert by the Orgelheimers.

The event is free and open to everyone – whether you are attending the dinner or just want to enjoy the atmosphere by the water.

Saint Hans in Frederiksberg Garden

One of the city's most popular midsummer traditions returns with activities for the whole family.

From 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM there will be children's entertainment at the playground with music, a bead workshop, face painting and fun games. At 5:30 PM a child-friendly "bonfire" will be lit with light and smoke, and the Midsummer Carol will be sung.

On the Palace Square, the program continues from 6:00 PM with Swedish folk dancing, Nordic tunes from Cæcilie Norby and Lars Danielsson, strings from the Danish Entertainment Orchestra and the Danish Boys' Choir.

Mayor Michael Vindfeldt will give a bonfire speech, and the large bonfire will be lit at 9:30 p.m.

There is free admission, the opportunity to buy food and drinks - and you are also welcome to bring your own picnic basket.

St. Hansel at Ofelia Square

At Ofelia Plads, the Midsummer bonfire is lit, as is tradition, out on the water in Copenhagen Harbor, and the evening offers music, bonfire speeches and community singing in atmospheric surroundings.

Food and drinks can be purchased from food trucks from Meyers, Sticks'n Sushi and Joe & the Juice, or enjoy a glass at Luftkastellet under the parasols.

At 8:45 p.m. Katinka will play a concert with songs from her acclaimed solo debut, before Frederik Cilius will give this year's bonfire speech at 9:15 p.m. The bonfire will be lit at 9:30 p.m., and the ilinx choir will sing the Midsummer Carol.

The event is free and requires no registration – everyone is welcome to a beautiful midsummer evening by the harbor.
