12% discount: Istedgade never surrenders with TYRA Byvandringer

Follow archaeologist and storyteller Hanne Fabricius on a tour through Istedgade and learn about the area's past. Istedgade became known as butchers' street at the beginning of the 20th century, when the cattle square was moved from Trommesalen to Brune Kødby. During the tour, Hanne will talk about butchers, roasters and their delicious delicacies, as well as the colorful artists who stayed in the artist hotels when they were on tour in Copenhagen. You will hear about the Odinekspressen, Copenhagen's first railway station from 1847 and about Christian the 4th's fortress, which was called Rosenåen, although the moat certainly did not smell of roses. The tour will also include the story of the cheeky ladies on Balladevej and the people's strike during the Second World War, where the expression "Istedgade never surrenders" originates. A fantastic historical tour, which is delivered with a huge personality and a large dose of humour.
