The Old Town Hall Museum in Ebeltoft is a historic building from 1789, which now functions as a museum. The town hall, one of Denmark's oldest preserved town hall buildings, offers a fascinating insight into the city's history and the various functions the building has had over time. The exhibitions include objects from the city's past, the courtroom, and the cells where prisoners were held. The museum is a popular destination for both locals and tourists who want to learn more about Ebeltoft's cultural heritage. There is also a beautiful courtyard where you can enjoy a break. Opening hours: From September 1 to May 31, the museum is open Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays from 12-15 and Saturdays from 10-15. From June 1 to August 31, it is open Tuesdays to Sundays from 10-16. Mols Bjerge National Park was inaugurated as a national park in 2009. The area is characterized by the ice ages and you will therefore get a very rare nature experience here. The museum is housed in an authentic dyehouse from the 18th century, where you can experience the original dyeing vats and tools that were used to dye clothes and textiles. The dyehouse also offers demonstrations of the old dyeing techniques, which provides a fascinating insight into this traditional craft. It is possible to participate in guided tours and gain a deeper understanding of the history and importance of the dyeing craft in Ebeltoft and the surrounding area. From the middle of the 19th century until the turn of the millennium, the Maltfabrikken in Ebeltoft was a proud production company and an important workplace in the town. The monumental red factory buildings testify to an industrial adventure in a Danish market town with exports to the country's breweries, Europe and even as far as South America. From the Maltfabrikken's heyday to today, industrial activities have declined. Now the historic buildings are used as a central element in the development of Ebeltoft's town centre.
