Vaffelhuset in Kerteminde
The waffle house in Kerteminde is considered to be Funen's best and one of the country's best ice houses. We know this because every year they have won the title as Funen's Best Ice Cream Parlor in 2017-2020, 2022 and 2023(!) and which has most often ended up in the Top 3 in the pursuit of the title as Denmark's Best Ice Cream Parlor.
We can warmly recommend a visit to the old market town, a walk on the harbor and of course an ice cream from Vaffelhuset.
The special thing about the place
When the title is called Denmark's Funen's Best Ice House and not just Best Ice, it's because there is more to the experience of getting an ice cream than the ice cream itself. Many emphasize the quality of the ice cream, while others focus on the place itself, the history, service, etc. At Vaffelhuset you get it all, because you can choose whether you want regular Premier ice cream or Kastbergs gourmetis in your shop, which by the way is home-baked and with guf, which is home-stirred.
To this you can add a super service and some super cozy surroundings. The ice house is located a spit drop from the market town's old harbor, so you can enjoy your ice cream together with a walk along the water.
All this together also explains why Vaffelhuset has twice as many followers on Facebook as there are residents in Kerteminde… If you have not yet visited the city and tasted the ice cream, then just get going!

It's not called the waffle house for nothing - their waffles are just amazing, and big, so they can contain a lot of ice cream - and they're well filled, whether you buy 1 or 5 balls - and then there's the goof uhmmmm!! !

I have 3 small grandchildren who can make an ice cream run down everywhere but here guf at the bottom 1 large ball of ice guf at the top
The children can eat without having to be washed afterwards and they can enjoy the ice cream in peace it does not run
