At the foot of Røsnæs and right down at the water's edge of Kalundborg Fjord you will find Strandhotel Røsnæs, a charming seaside hotel with its own restaurant. The hotel came on our map of Denmark's best experiences when it won our vote in March 2021 Denmark's Best Bathing Hotel.
But what has made so many people vote for this beach hotel? We have investigated the matter and the things guests highlight at the place.
Great location and views
Since 2013, TV 2's Badehotellet has given a real boost to the Danes' desire to hold a classic Danish beach holiday as in the old days.
This has led to an increase in the number of beach hotels, but there are actually quite a few beach hotels that can boast of being right at the water's edge. This hotel can, however, and precisely the location and views are a theme in the many positive reviews from guests.
If you want a classic Danish beach holiday as in TV 2's TV series, then this place is a really good offer!
Another thing that guests highlight is the food in Restaurant Næs, which houses both gourmet and brasserie, so you can both choose an all-night experience with 8-course gourmet, or just want to settle for a single dish. Regardless of appetite, the dishes are made with local ingredients (eg Holbæk ham) and flavored with seasonal herbs.
Center for unique experiences
The hotel also has the completely unique advantage that you are never caught in your hotel room. There is plenty to experience right nearby.
On the hotel grounds you can enjoy a view from the terrace with a cup of coffee, take a dip from the hotel's jetty or go for a walk along the water.
Not far from there are taste experiences to be found at Denmark's largest winery, Dyrehøj Vingaard and then you can both walk and cycle in Røsnæs' hilly and beautiful nature. A trip to the tip of Røsnæs and Røsnæs Lighthouse is a must.
When you are more into city life, Kalundborg city is only 5 km from the hotel.
