The tuber

Among Denmark's best ice houses

For many years, there was in the place that is today called Knolden, a grocery store. It is 76 years ago today. Here it was located as the only shop in the area - on a lumpy field. Hence the name Knolden.

Many different shops have been run at the address over the years - some with success and others for a very short time.

The last 10-15 years with less luck - right up to 13.04.19, when Kira Madsen decided that this was where she wanted to realize her long-standing dream of opening an ice house. And what better way than to name it Knolden.

It did not take long before guests from near and far made the pilgrimage to Knolden, because Kira knows how to give people homemade quality products, super service with big smiles in a personal ice house.

In everyday speech it is Knoldemutter, Bondeknolden and all Knoldeungerne.

That Knolden is an extremely popular ice house, one can e.g. see by the fact that Knolden's ice house already in 2020 got a distinguished 11th place in our vote on Denmark's Best Ice Cream Parlor. This is particularly impressive given that the place only opened its doors in 2019!

In 2021, Knolden could then advance and take a very nice 6th place in our poll, so if you are looking for world-class ice cream, then you can safely visit Knoldemutter and all the Knoldeungerne - you will not regret it.

The ice cream is from Hansen's ice cream, Gelato Italian ice cream, Carte´dor, Wild ice cream in Thy and Organic ice cream (produced on coconut milk) from England. There is also sugar-free ice cream, gluten-free waffles and lactose-free ice cream.

The ice cream waffles are home-baked. Guf and the whipping cream of course whipped - no cans here.

You can probably not ask for more!

Great place to come...you feel VERY welcome..all the lovely young people are so happy and radiate they are having a good time....When Kira is there it is not a loud superior boss like. Don't know if you should say hello or not....no Kira comes out and you have a little chat....when all this is said it's some nice js an get...2023 then my favorite is lemon ice cream with licorice sprinkle...we already got it 3 times….though.

  3. Fantastic selection and excellent service.

My opinion about the Knolden Ice House.
    It is in my opinion

The best ice house in Denmark.

However, this has been written without having tasted all of Denmark's Ice Houses. The large selection of IS and the sweet and friendly service you always get at Knolden. You have to look far for that. But it is, as written, MY OPINION about Knolden. A fantastically nice ice house. Always a nice atmosphere and always many guests. It is probably not without reason.

  4. fantastic

    Service is ALWAYS top notch
    Quality ice cream
And then they know how to take care of customers and listen to wishes
My husband has a very special milkshake that they make especially for him

We come there every year many times during the summer

  5. Denmark's best ice house.

  6. Fantastic ice cream
