Ivan Evigvår
Ivan Evigvår is the name of the Thomas Dambo troll who was first performed in Copenhagen's South Harbor, but who later moved to Mariager in North Jutland.
Here, Ivan now hides in the Munkholm Anlagget, where you can also experience hundreds of different roses in the Rose Garden, a holy spring and much more.
Experience Ivan on the walking route Mariager Rundt
You can find Ivan Evigvår quite easily in Munkholm Anlagget on the outskirts of Mariager. But we can recommend extending the experience by walking the hiking route Mariager Rundt, which goes right past Ivan and which also offers many other highlights, such as Mariager's idyllic town center with half-timbered houses but also Hohøj, which is Scandinavia's highest burial mound (and with an excellent view). .
The story behind Ivan Evigvår
Ivan Evigvår was born during "The Great Troll Folk Festival", which is the name of the project that arose due to Covid-19.
Thomas Dambo should actually have performed 25 trolls around the world, but due to the pandemic, Thomas flew to Denmark, where the troll folk festival was created with the help of a lot of volunteer labor from locals around Denmark.

Moving to Mariager
Due to new construction in Copenhagen's South Harbour, it became necessary to move Ivan in 2022. For this purpose, Thomas Dambo created a competition where people could help nominate and vote for the new home.
In the end, over 51,000 voted and Mariager in North Jutland became the lucky winner.
On 26 August 2022, Mariagerfjord Municipality's mayor Mogens Jespersen could then welcome Ivan to his new home. You can find the new home in the Munkholm facility in Mariager, which may soon be renamed "Troldeskoven"...
