Owner Bavnehøj and Møllehøj

Denmark's highest natural point!

Møllehøj is Denmark's highest natural point with its 170, 86 meters in height. The point is located near Ejer Bavnehøj in Skanderborg Municipality. The highest point in Denmark is marked with a millstone, which is a relic of an old Dutch windmill, which stood on top from 1838 to 1917. From here you can enjoy the view of Samsø and the Little Belt Bridge.

Møllehøj first became really known as Denmark's highest point in a survey in 2005. In the past, it was thought that it was either Yding Skovhøj or Ejer Bavnehøj that was the highest point. Møllehøj surpasses Yding Skovhøj and Ejer Bavnehøj by 9 and 51 cm respectively.

You can walk from Møllehøj to Ejer Bavnehøj via the hiking trail 'Sporet ved Ejer', which is a 1.5 km long hike. At the top of Ejer Bavnehøj you can visit the 12.5 meter high tower, which was erected in 1924. It costs DKK 5 to visit the tower, and you can add a contribution at the bottom of the tower if you feel generous. If you want to use the elevator, this costs DKK 20.
