Dueodde

Sublime sandy beach with beautiful views from the lighthouse

Dueodde is one of Denmark’s most attractive sandy beaches. Here, you can enjoy the white sand and bathe in the clear water, which invitingly stretches several kilometres on either side of the southern tip of Bornholm. Take the fine sand in your hands and let it glide between your fingers, and see how the wind makes it drift.

At Dueodde, the wind moves the drifting sand around, constantly forming and reforming the area’s many dunes. In the southernmost part of the beach, the numerous dunes form hollows, where you can find shelter. Here, the beach is several hundred metres wide, and be aware that the water close to the coast is shallow in some places, whilst it is deep elsewhere, due to the many sandbanks that are present in the sea. From the lighthouse, Dueodde Fyrtårn, you can gaze out over the sea, dunes and forests of the coastal area.

The beach stretches from the summerhouse area at Snogebæk to the nudist beach at Jomfrugård. There are a car park and toilet at Fyrvej and Skrokkegårdsvej. From here, there is also a 500-meter long wooden walkway between the dunes, which ends around 100 metres from the water’s edge.
