Europe's Best Amusement Park 2021 + 2022

Visit Fårup Sommerland

Fårup Sommerland is impossible to avoid when we talk about experiences in North Jutland. The amusement park has been voted Europe's Best Amusement Park 2021 and in 2022 has closed Fønix, Denmark's Largest Roller Coaster. It was so successful that the park regained the title of Europe's best, while Fønix won the title of Europe's Best Ride. Wild!

Visit The Singing Trees in Kildeparken

Kildeparken is a beautiful and green little oasis a stone's throw from the city center. It is an obvious place to have a packed lunch or just sit and watch life go by. Kildeparken is also home to a curious experience, namely The Singing Trees, an art installation made by Aalborg Kongress og Kulturcenter. Over the years, AKKC has been visited by a host of the biggest stars of the performing arts, and many of them have planted a tree in Kildeparken. Next to each tree, you can press a button and listen to a piece of the artist's music. A pleasant experience, especially with children.

Events in Hirtshals

Hirtshals, Tornby and Tversted offer a wealth of events and experiences all year round. There is something to see and experience for all ages and the local organizers are ready to welcome you. Heart path

The Heart Trail in Knivholt Forest is a 3.3 km long route organized by the Heart Association and Frederikshavn Municipality. It offers a path through the forest, marked to promote daily exercise, which both improves mood and counteracts lifestyle diseases.

Experience Læsø Saltsyderi

At the island's biggest attraction, Læsø Saltsyderi, you can take a free tour, make your own salt using old traditions or buy some of the very popular salt that has made the island famous. Hear the story of the famous Læsø Salt, see the old traditions and get an experience out of the ordinary. There is also a playground and in the summer there is a pancake stall.

Visit the town's potters and artisans

Lønstrup is the city in Denmark that has the most potters in the fewest number of square kilometers. Throughout the city, and especially concentrated around Rubjergvej, you will find a multitude of artisans and potters. See their open workshops and buy a souvenir to take home.
4 hikes on Grenen

Go on the Grenensporet

The Grenen Trail consists of more than twenty kilometers of hiking trails, the shortest of which is three kilometers, made with gravel, so that wheelchair users and families with strollers can also experience Grenen's unique nature. The remaining trails are tramping paths, where you follow the existing tracks in the landscape via route markings. The longest red route is 10 kilometers and takes you, among other things, past all the lighthouses on Grenen.

Jyllandsakvariet in Thyborøn

At the Jutland Aquarium in Thyborøn you can get up close to all the exciting fish that live in both the North Sea and the Limfjord. The place is equipped with various mixing tanks, where on certain days you can also help feed the many fish in the tanks. If you would rather experience the nature around beautiful Thyborøn, you can just hop aboard the local tractor bus, where you can go on an oyster, seal or amber safari.

Coffee and board game evening

Hidden in Sankelmarksgade, a side street to Boulevarden, is the board game café Dice 'n Drinks. In addition to being a cozy café, they have over 700 board games(!) and staff who can quickly help you get started with new games. In addition, we can add that, after Behag Din Smag, they probably make the best barista coffee in town! There are simply coffee connoisseurs who go to Sankelmarksgade to get their coffee.
