The art house Munkeruphus

Munkeruphus by Gilleleje is an art house that houses changing exhibitions of contemporary art, design and architecture. Located in a historic artist's home overlooking the Øresund, it was the former home and workplace of the artist Gunnar Aagaard Andersen.

Get an insight into the lives of fishermen on the North Coast

Experience the Shipyards in Gilleleje

The ship sheds in Gilleleje are part of Museum Nordsjælland and provide an insight into the life of fishermen on the North Coast over the centuries. Here you can experience exhibitions about the hard fishing life, see old fishing dinghies and ship models, and learn about the Jews' flight to Sweden during the Second World War.

The museum is located in a beautiful old orchard, where you can relax and enjoy a cup of coffee from the café. The old fisherman's house and schoolroom show life as it was in the 1800s and mid-1900s.
