Autumn has begun and that of course means it's time for pumpkins, vampires, ghost stories and lots of spooky stuff.

There are a wealth of Halloween experiences and events around Jutland, Funen and Zealand in 2024.

We have therefore created a list divided into regions so that you can quickly find activities near you, but you can also get a visual overview with the digital map of Halloween events.

North Jutland

Halloween at Aalborg Zoo

Uuhhh… it's going to be really creepy and cozy,
When we invite you to North Jutland's biggest Halloween party at Aalborg Zoo. The whole family will get into the right Halloween mood with horror and pumpkin fun and all sorts of creepy crawlies that swarm from the dark corners of the garden. And this year, the spookiness has been turned up even more with two rather scary news.

Autumn Festival + Light Fall in Fårup Sommerland

Come to Høstfest in Fårup Sommerland this autumn. Again in 2024 we will open up Høstfest and Lysfald already on the weekend of October 4-6 and of course throughout the autumn holidays from October 11-20. Here you can experience true autumn atmosphere and maximum coziness when we open the doors to Høstfest! 

Nordgys - horror festival

The main library opens its doors for the one-day festival Nordgys, where you can dive into the horror genre and quench your (blood)thirst for thrills!  

The festival is for all horror fans, and the day will, as usual, offer a little bit of everything; informative lectures, exciting interviews and a few chills here and there.  

Come and join the community and chat with others who share your passion for the creepy and bizarre.  

House of Horrors in Aalborg's Defense and Garrison Museum

Are you ready to face your worst nightmare? Do you want to test your limits to the limit and feel the adrenaline pumping like never before?

So read on if you dare…

Soon the huge hangars at Aalborg's Defence and Garrison Museum in Vestbyen will once again be transformed into the city's scariest horror event. A place that is pitch-black and desolate at night. After last year's horrors, we are now returning to the historic war museum to create an experience that will make your blood run cold.

It will be the biggest horror event ever in Aalborg. It will take place during the first two weekends in October.

That is, Friday d. 4 October and Saturday 5 October and Friday 11 October and Saturday October 12.

Middle Jutland

Halloween in Tivoli Friheden

Normally, Tivoli Friheden is filled with joy, fun and smiling faces. But every October, our fairytale park changes significantly. Suddenly, only our bravest guests dare to visit us on opening days from October 5th – 6th and 12th – 20th. So the question is, are you brave enough to visit us during Halloween?

During Halloween, real horror, horror and horror spread throughout the park. It is teeming with hairy spiders, gruesome monsters, talking skeletons, screaming ghosts and all sorts of mysterious creatures and apparitions.

Halloween is rapidly approaching, and at Ree Park Safari we are preparing to welcome you to a spectacular Halloween week.

During the autumn holidays, Saturday 12th to 20th October, you can enter a world filled with mysteries and events every day. We look forward to welcoming you to a world of (un)cozy and (un)animals and a frightening number of offers and activities for all ages.

Halloween at Klosterlund Museum

Autumn is coming to an end and darkness is falling over the forest and the lake. It's time for Halloween. Klosterlund Museum invites you to a cozy/spooky evening at the museum on November 1, 2024.

You will be welcomed to the museum by the peat worker's widow. She will send you out into the twilight, where you will have to solve tasks. Maybe you will meet the peat worker's ghost?

After the scary tour of the grounds, there will be an opportunity to buy something to strengthen yourself. Bog water and roasted mouse brains are good for the stomach after the trip out into the dark.

The doors open at 5 pm, while it is still a little light, but as evening falls the area will be in darkness.

All Saints' Day in the Old Town

All Saints' Day

Experience All Saints' Day in the Old Town, where you can hear about superstitions, dragon dolls, mysterious apparitions, poisonous plants and much more from the priest, the farmhands and the kitchen maids, among others. Participate in the many fun and educational activities that take place throughout the autumn holidays.

You can also make your own spooky bee lantern and hear how the lanterns were used in ancient times to scare the neighbors.

The market square smells of apple slices, and the patisserie offers coffee, chocolate and cakes with history.

Halloween at Gammel Estrup

On this magical evening, mysterious things happen at the manor, and who knows, maybe some of the manor's former residents will show up...

Hear the ghost stories associated with Gammel Estrup, and experience the manor lit only by candles. Take an atmospheric tour of the dark cellar, where supernatural phenomena and ghosts lurk. Also try the spooky treasure hunt in the garden – if you dare!

In the Manor Kitchen and coffee rooms you can buy coffee and the famous Gammel Estrup apple cake.

Magical Halloween in Djurs Sommerland

Look forward to one of Denmark's biggest Halloween events when we celebrate Magical Halloween in Djurs Sommerland during the autumn holidays.

The entire park is transformed! Experience 40,000 brightly colored pumpkins, rattling skeletons, cawing witches, and crawling spiders.

Also look forward to two Halloween haunted houses – HekseSkolen and GræskarFabrikken – if you dare!

South Jutland

DYSTOPIA - Haunted House

DYSTOPIA Haunted House is an interactive horror maze of 50+ scary and astonishing rooms that you walk through in small groups. Inside the maze, actors in special effects makeup and costumes are waiting to give you the biggest shock of your life! The maze features specially designed sound and light effects, decorations and terrifying installations.

This fall, you can experience thrills, laughter and terror in our most ambitious horror maze to date! Together with guests and volunteers, we have collected the best of the best from the last decade of terrifying entertainment.

Halloween in Aabenraa

The spookiness spreads when Halloween once again appears in Aabenraa's pedestrian street from October 5th to November 2nd.

Come and experience the great Halloween decorations in Aabenraa's pedestrian street and on the squares when Halloween rolls around the country again in October.

Halloween is a very special annual event in Aabenraa, where the town centre squares and pedestrian street are decorated extra beautifully. See the creepy clowns, nasty spider webs and get a thrill when you walk through the street. During the school autumn holidays in week 42 there will be fun – and spooky – activities for children of all ages.

Experience the enchanted labyrinth on Store Torv. From October 14th to 20th, you will find a spooky labyrinth that draws people from near and far into a Halloween universe. During this period, Store Torv is transformed into a wondrous place where Halloween, mystery and circus go hand in hand.

In week 42, something special is happening in the enchanted labyrinth. Skilled circus artists take over Store Torv and offer frighteningly funny shows every day. These shows are a feast for the senses, where the audience can experience circus artists performing their most impressive acts.

Funen

Halloween at Odense Zoo

Look forward to lots of brand new, fun and (un)funny moments when we celebrate Halloween at the ZOO! 

We're decorating the garden like never before, and you can look forward to exploring the Witch's Forest, the Bat Cave and the Field of Death, among other places! There will also be the opportunity for real witch play when the garden is taken over by crazy and quirky witches who are ready to play and dance with both children and adults. 

In addition to the many beautiful autumn colors, witches' eyes and pumpkins in long rows, we have of course also filled the program with lots of fun and exciting animal activities for the whole family.

For Halloween, the creepy creatures move into Egeskov, where they have settled in the park by the old castle. It is bound to be spooky for children and their families.

During the autumn holidays, Egeskov's garden is decorated with a Halloween theme. For children and their families, there is an activity program with both fun and non-fun. On a route in the garden, younger children can solve a treasure hunt and on their trip they meet a lot of goblins, trolls and witches. For older children, we turn up the spookiness a notch in the ZONE.

Stop by the cozy pumpkin stand just outside Søndersø!

At the roadside stall you can buy various edible pumpkins and decorative pumpkins – large and small.

There are also Halloween pumpkins. The closer we get to Halloween, the more different sizes there will be to choose from. From the small ones weighing 2 kg to the large ones weighing over 15 kg.

The witches have enchanted the garden, so you can explore among creepy spiders, crows and more than 20,000 pumpkins, which form the setting for Tivoli's atmospheric autumn season.

Find Halloween decorations and autumn treats in the stalls, be captivated by the beautiful lights, and join us as we choose the biggest giant pumpkin of the year.

If you're into horror and horror, then Halloween in Tivoli is just the thing for you! 

Beneath the roller coaster lies a haunted hospital. The place is filled with restless souls who never escaped and remnants of past experiments that no one alive today can imagine. At the same time, the madmen of the Vendetta family are ravaging the old mansion and scaring the life out of anyone who dares to venture inside. They are waiting for you in the darkness… Do you dare to visit them?

On the edge of reality and fantasy, Halloween and horror fans can experience the unique Horror Drive Thru atmosphere for the 5th year in a row, where crying, laughter, joy and fear flow together in a real adrenaline rush.

Horror Drive Thru is an annual recurring and chilling Halloween experience, where you in your own car and with our intensifying soundtrack on the car radio, roll through a thoroughly decorated track, where you are presented with one horror scenario after another. Along the winding track, you will meet our 25 live actors disguised as monsters and other disgusting creatures. We take rolled down windows and unlocked doors as an invitation.

Halloween at the Open Air Museum

The (un)hyggen is spreading at the Open Air Museum. During the autumn holidays, creatures from Nordic folklore have taken over the Open Air Museum's village, and the villagers need your help to overcome trolls, goblins, witches and ghouls. Meet wise women, frightened villagers and fight the creatures with bows and arrows.

There will also be fun breaks from the spooky with magic, troll theater, face painting, jack-o'-lantern workshops, obstacle courses, and dangerous snacks, such as toxic candy floss, moldy popcorn, and more.

Halloween at Nivaagaard's Painting Collection

The Painting Collection is celebrating its traditional and atmospheric Halloween at the museum again this year! Admission is free for both children and adults all day!

12-15: Carve your own jack-o'-lantern
Bring your own pumpkin, or buy one at the museum and get help from our house artist for inspiration and techniques as we carve beards and spooky jack-o'-lanterns.

The jack-o'-lantern workshop takes place on the museum's terrace, so remember to wear warm clothes.

5:30 p.m.-8: Night at the museum
As is tradition, we are once again transforming the Painting Collection into a real haunted house and we open the doors at 5:30 PM! Go on a treasure hunt at the museum after closing time and visit our workshop. A heart-stopping dinner, juice and cake are available for purchase in the cafe.

The Depths of Horror on the Hill

The reservoir under Bakken's old water slide has been emptied of water, and from the dark corridors that stretch far beneath the park, an ancient evil has emerged!

During the fall break, the dried-up water reservoir has transformed into two terrifying levels: a post-apocalyptic nightmare and an enchanted hell – soaked in blood, radioactive waste and long abandoned. A cement pit where you must maneuver through a maze of steel and concrete to find your way out of the darkness again.

Stop by during the fall break – if you dare! It's also open on the weekend of October 12th – 20th.
