Byens Brød in Fredericia is one of Denmark's best bakeries. The family business has existed for several generations and upholds the traditions of craftsmanship.

We saw that Byens Brød is popular when they were first named one of Denmark's Best Bakeries in 2023. At the same time, the bakery was able to celebrate its 20th anniversary under Lars Hesselvig's leadership.

The success continued in 2024, when the bakery was recognized as the Triangle Area's Best Bakery.

Bageriets popularitet ses også af, at bageriet nu er at finde på hele fire lokationer i Trekantsområdet. Udover de to steder i Fredericia og Erritsø, er der nu også afdeling i Vejen og Børkop.

The history of the bakery

Lars Hesselvig, owner and manager of the bakery, has had a lifelong passion for bread and baking, which was awakened early in childhood. As a child, he spent many hours in his father's bakery in Sjællandsgade, where the smell of freshly baked bread and the sight of dedicated work laid the foundation for his own career. In 2003, Lars took over Erritsø Bageri, which he renamed Byens Brød. Since then, he has worked purposefully to combine traditional craftsmanship with modern innovations. Among other things, he introduced a drive-in facility, which made it easier for customers to shop quickly and conveniently. 

Over the years, Lars has secured the bakery's position as a cornerstone in the local area. Byens Brød is known for its focus on quality and respect for classic recipes, making it a beloved choice among both regular customers and new visitors.🥨
